Basic Population: Module 5.2: 20-year-olds 43- to 52-year-olds 73- to 82-year-olds in Germany Module 6.1: 12-year-olds 35- to 44-year-olds 65- to 74-year-olds in Germany Sampling model: Disproportionately stratified random sample 1st step: Area sample (sample points) 2nd step: Sampling of persons (residents' registration office) Target variables: Caries (prevalence and extent) Periodontitis (staging and grading) Edentulism (prevalence) other oral diseases Duration of examination: Total time spent in the examination center: 45 minutes Of which dental examination: 20-30 minutes Evaluation strategy / statistical models: prevalences and 95% confidence intervals; association analyses and risk factor analyses using mixed models; descriptive statistics (means and standard deviations, median and quartiles, absolute and relative frequencies); group comparisons using appropriate statistical hypothesis tests. GEP-Conformity: The present study will be conducted according to the study protocol and in compliance with Good Epidemiological Practice, including archiving of the necessary documents. Financing: Modules 5.2 and 6.1 of DMS - 6 are funded by the BZÄK and the KZBV.

Module 6.1: - The target person is registered in one of the randomly selected sample points. - The target person is born in the years o 2010 (12-year-olds) OR o 1978-1987 (35- to 44-year-olds) OR o 1948-1957 (65- to 74-year-olds) - The written declaration of consent of the custodians of the target person and the target person is available. Module 5.2: - The target person participated in the DMS V (predecessor study 2014) and has been included in the panel of the DMS V has been. - The written declaration of consent of the custodians of the target person and the target person is available.

Exclusion Criteria

- The target person or his/her guardians do not have sufficient knowledge of German to participate in the study. - Legal requirements.
